About Miriam

Miriam Lightfoot is a former high school Chemistry teacher, who currently lives in Lexington, Kentucky.

She received her Master of Science in Science Education from the University of Kentucky and now serves as an academic coordinator at the university.

Miriam grew up in Allendale, New Jersey, when kids walked to school, climbed trees and carried a library card.

Her favorite books growing up included Encyclopedia Brown, Little House on the Prairie and Nancy Drew.

Her favorite teachers were Mrs. Weisinger, who taught her how to read, Mr. Beach, who loved words and Mr. Wasek, who loved to teach.

Her pets are Mocha and Lupe, Siamese cats…the indoor versions of Minky and Lala.
